Meet Doug

I was born in Hayward, Wisconsin, the third of six children, and was raised working at our family business, featuring a riding stable in the summer, and snowmobile sales and service in the winter. My siblings and I were very involved in the family business while growing up. My mother later sold the business, which is now Hayward Power Sports. This up-bringing taught me the importance of working hard and serving people.

After graduating from Hayward High School, I attended technical college in Superior, Wisconsin, and returned to Hayward to work at Louisiana Pacific. I was hired as a reserve officer for the Hayward Police Department in 1983.

I have three sons who work and live in the Hayward area. We enjoy horse riding, motorcycling and snowmobiling. I take great pride in raising black Angus cattle, and am actively involved, volunteering time for the Sawyer County ATV/Snowmobile Alliance, grooming trails and maintaining equipment.
