Meet Bryan

I started my public service career 36 years ago when I joined the United States Marine Corps. As a Marine, I was a Military police officer, squad leader, and criminal investigator holding the rank of sergeant.

I moved to Hayward in 1994 and shortly after met my wife Kelly. We have been married for almost 30 years and we were blessed to raise our 3 children here. Our children Lane, Chesney (Ryan), and Reese all reside in Hayward and Stone Lake area. Additionally in the last 3 years we have been blessed with 2 grandchildren (Callum and Deacan).

I started my law enforcement career in 1995 with the Hayward Police Department as a patrol officer and was then hired with the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office in 2002.
While employed with the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office, I’ve worked as a Jail Deputy for 2 years, a Patrol Deputy for 3 years, Patrol Sergeant for 8 years, and Criminal Investigator for 11 years. I have also been a Field Training Officer for many years, a member of the Sawyer County Dive and Rescue team for 10 years, and a member of the Sawyer County SWAT team for 15 years. In my last 3 years on the SWAT team, I held the position of SWAT Commander. I currently serve the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office as your Chief Deputy, supervising the Patrol Division, Investigation Division, Jail Division, Dispatch Division, and Reception personnel.

I know with my leadership and experience, I will continue to guide the personnel of the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office as your Sheriff in a positive direction to provide services and protect our community.
